Paypal non confirmed addresses?

I am selling a few things on eBay at the moment, and a few of the people who have won my auctions do not have confirmed paypal addresses??

Am I all good to send out to them once payment has been accepted? Or is this something dodgey?

One guy didnt even have an address when he sent his paypal payment?

Thnaks

To be covered under Ebay and Paypal's seller protection policy they HAVE to have a confirmed address otherwise you are not eligible for cover if something went wrong.

Thanks. So if they are not confirmed I could end up losing my item AND money paid for it? lol

Even if i sent something recorded delivery and they said it didn't turn up, I would have no protection and PayPal would take the money for the item off me?

Sellers can't leave buyers negative feedback now, so even if they have good feedback now that doesn't really mean anything as they could have tried scam other sellers / waist peoples time and the seller would not have not been able to leave neagative feedback? Just when I thought they couldn't make eBay any worse!

Think I am going to go back to taking payment by cheques.

Re: Paypal non confirmed addresses?

The thing with eBay now is on certain items (especially electronics) you HAVE to take Paypal or they won't let you list the item.

Cheques are no safer. Even if it's "cleared" they I think they can still take the money back off you if the cheque is subsequently found to be, say, forged.

I don't even know how safe direct transfer is if it turns out the money came from an account that had been hacked/cracked.

Re: Paypal non confirmed addresses?

Bank transfer is the safest.

If it turns out to be from a hacked account the responsibility lies with the bank.

Thankfully I think that's no longer true.

Re: Paypal non confirmed addresses?

you should put in the item description that you will not ship to unconfirmed paypal addresses. If one still bids and wins just null their bid and take the next bid.

Even with confirmed addresses though paypal are still far more likely to side with the buyer than the seller.
