MS Access help please!

Hopefully someone can help with this seemingly simple question (I've Googled but can't get an answer).

How can I apply the same properties to multiple fields, in one go? For example I have 22 fields which all started off as text, but now I want to change them to number, with 1 decimal place displayed. I can't find any way to do it other than select each field, and adjust its properties, then the next field, and so on....

Thanks in anticipation...!

Re: MS Access help please!

Highlight all of the boxes that you want to change, right click, properties, All, box 2 is type and 3 is decimal points.

Re: MS Access help please!

When I highlight all the fields (I am in main table, design view), and right click, properties, I don't get the properties of the fields, I get an option to change the properties of the table!

I am trying to re-design a database (which I previously constructed!) from the bottom up and am realising how thick I am - I have no chance of doing this right!

Aaaargh!

Re: MS Access help please!

Apologies, I did not read properly, I thought you wanted to change them in a form.

If you are in table view you only need to change the drop down to change the type. Should only take a matter of seconds to change them all.

Re: MS Access help please!

Yes, but I also want to change the number of decimal places (which seems to default to zero, annoyingly).

looks like I will have to change them individually. thanks for your time.

Re: MS Access help please!

Or just change one, copy and paste that then change the field names (not going to be much quicker than changing them all individually though.
