Thanks: Gave 262, Got 174 | Need a pic of you looking smart!
Can anyone help, i'm going to a wedding and dont want to wear a suit, so i am thinking smart trousers, black designer shirt which is short in length so i dont have to tuck it in and a bright tie (probably pink).
My family dont sound impressed so anyone got a pic of themselves wearing something similar to show them?

Might just be me, but a black shirt (not tucked in) with a pink tie would not look that smart at a wedding.
I'm not saying you need to wear a suit, just don't think your choice is very appropriate.
Go on....buy yourself a proper dress shirt. |

I was a guest at my brothers wedding recently, and was looking for a more 'informal' look. I went for black loafers, grey trousers, white shirt, grey/black/white tie and a black v-neck jumper.
It looked quite smart, but not overly formal. I felt comfortable too. |

Tuck your shirt in and you'll be fine.

Put your pride to one side for one day and do as they say!

If your female, a nice off -the -shoulder gold lame' number would be much more preferable. |

i would say either suck it up and wear the suit or wear a waistcoat with a nice tie. Nice grey waistcoat with accompanying shirt and red tie looks very smart imo. Whose wedding is it, if its someone close to you that you know well then look smart, I wouldnt be so concerned if its just some extended family or friends you dont really know. Make sure you tuck your shirt in though, no excuses for not doing that.

I dont think I would have been too impressed if someone turned up at my wedding without even tucking their shirt in. Get yourself into a nice suit and enjoy the day.
Remember you are a guest at their wedding (that has cost them a LOT of money) so dont do anything that would upset them in any way.
After a few glasses of wine and a couple of beers you wont care what you are wearing anyway.

I am a guy and straight thanks very much.
Its my cousins wedding, to be fair i'm only going because it will be a nice drive down south, i get to stay in a posh hotel and i get a weekend off work that wont just be wasted slobbing around the house. Unless my cousin is reading this in which case i really want to be there for her big day!
