Quick question for any plumbers here?

My mum needs a new 3 port diverter valve (to stop the raditators warming up when the boiler is only heating for hot water). The boiler (not a combi) and immersion tank are ground floor in a small bungalow.

How much should she expect to have to pay? She has got a couple of quotes - one was just under £400 without VAT the other was very vague and the guy would not commit a price without a visit.

We know this is the fault as a neighbour who is a retired plumber told her. (He can't do it as he is now very elderly and not too mobile).

Meanwhile she has turned off all the rads that have individual thermostat valves - but there is one that does not have it so this one gets hot still - hence so does that room.

I believe British Gas do a fixed price call out, that covers parts and labour
for about £160.00.
