I found this in my new car attached to the roof above the drivers door by Velcro.

There are a couple of buttons on it which when pressed illuminate the red light at the end.

Any ideas what it is ?

I can just picture someone sitting pressing the buttons on it now and someone else miles away wondering why their garage keeps opening and closing on its own...

Thanks for that. I know where the previous owner of the car lives so I'll pop up there and see if he has anything interesting in his garage

I think that I'll put it back in the car as it might make people think that we're posh and have electric gates

We used to live in an apartment with a communal car park which had electric gates, our living room window overlooked the carpark. One day we fell out with the flat below after they had weekend after weekend of parties going on until 0600 in the morning. We used to have great fun shutting the gate with the remote control when the lad from downstairs had just opened the gate to get out...sometimes we could keep him waiting to get out for a good 15 minutes or so

nice work! is that the orginal one you were gonna get ? or a different on altogether, love that Merc but after seeing the car kieron posted it doesn't look as stylish

It's not the same one. I got a call from the dealer on the day before I was due to pick up the previous one to say that he had put it in for service and there was so much wrong with it that he couldn't sell it any more but was just going to chuck it into an auction as was.

I've been up and down the country looking at several since then until I found this one that seemed to fit the bill. It doesn't have all of the toys that some of the others had like ventilated pulsating seats but it is quite rare to find a four year old one owner car that has only done 24,000 miles in four years.

Well going back to your comment earlier about leaving it in the car to make you look posh, with a car like that i don't think you need to!
