Posture Stools - Anygood ?

I've had problems with my neck and lower back for aslong as I can remember. Headaches are also quite frequent. I've tried going chiropractors a few times but my bones seem to always reset themselves back into the old positions not to mention its very expensive. Just wondered if anyone has had a stool or something and has had any improvement.

I'm looking at something like these

p.s. I'm not really sure of the best part of the forum to post this thread.

Re: Posture Stools - Anygood ?

you're better off getting a decent ergonomic chair mate. posture stools place a fair amount of stress onto the knee area and the research doesn't show much in the way of benefit to the back than a good chair.

what's do you want the chair for ? work at a computer ? you need to look at how your desk is set up, the height of the desk, where the mouse / keyboard are etc as if these are at the wrong heights they can lead to shoulder / neck / arm problems. take a google for "dse assessment" and you will find info that would help.

you could also try exercises to improve your core strength, that is the core abdomen muscles that help support you. improving these help the back, but be careful some exercises are bad for certain back conditions (maybe ask a physio / osteo etc).

in general when sitting try not to slump or slouch forward. pop a rolled up towel behind the small of your back to provide support, get up and stretch or move away from your seat every hour or so, or when you just feel you have been sitting for too long.

hope that helps!

Stu

Re: Posture Stools - Anygood ?

My chiropractor recommended using a swiss ball as a chair.
