Re: Quad Bikes

Jeff, I'm not sure on cc's etc but please be careful. These things are more dangerous than motorbikes in my eyes. They're designed for off road use and as such have a tendency to tip over easily.

I happily take my Son on the back of my bike for a nice slow ride, but I wouldn't allow him near a quad.

Do you have the use of some suitable land? I guess if it's relatively flat then it wouldn't be a problem. The issue of course is when they tip and land on you etc....

Re: Quad Bikes

Not really up on quads anymore but follow general rules-

Avoid chinese rubbish
Stick to yamaha/honda/suzuki
Sports quads look better and are more fun to ride but more dangerous than traditional quads which offer more grip and stability although are not as fun
I have ridden a couple of quads in my time and i have really enjoyed it, it is dangerous at fast speeds but if you worried about things being dangerous all the time you might aswell kill yourself now as you will waste your life (although i understand with kids it is different)

These are my opinions from my experience.

Re: Quad Bikes

One of our companies is RJSXtreme.co.uk
We sell Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki , Polaris and Arctic cat quad bikes, road legal biggies etc.
We sell 100s and if ridden correctly are perfectly safe. I would say whats been said before and avoid anything without a proper name.
The handling setup and stability has improven a lot of the last years and you can even have independant rear suspension on a sports bike which makes it handle like a dream on and off road.
If you want any further info just PM me , ill be happy to advise

Cheers

Re: Quad Bikes

a few years ago i used the Honda Big Red as a day to day vehicle off road

but i took a 1 day course about using/driving them off road

basically explained in practical terms what they can/cannot do

well worth the money - think it was £75?
