"Ex-member" - what's that all about?

I've noticed this a few times in the last few months. What is it?

Is it members who have voluntarily left the forums or been banned??

Re: "Ex-member" - what's that all about?

Basically the scenario is as follows.

Cue Imperial march....

"dur dur dur, dur de dur, dur de dur........"

Ian J in mask approaches Emporer (Stewart)

[Heavy breathing]"There is a disturbance in the force...."

[Licks lips]"Eliminate them"

... simple as that really.

Edit: If you're wondering where all the other moderators are, think "Cantina" from Mos Eisley.....

Re: "Ex-member" - what's that all about?

it also denotes members who ask for their membership to be cancelled, and as such is not necessarily a sign of wrong-doing.

depends if the ex-member is a grown man in his 30s with a fondness for Hitler and old women and had posted personal pics of himself in his bedroom (in his parents' home) handling his fantasy sword

- bad example, because I think his posts are still here

Re: "Ex-member" - what's that all about?

'...Obi-Wan Kenobi described Mos Eisley as a "wretched hive of scum and villainy.'

Didn't that used to be The Scotch Bar of the Berni Inn at Ealing Broadway, nearly 30 years ago?
Regards
Johntheexbarman, still scarred by the experience.
