Paying For Nothing?

Hi here is the deal me and myh wife recently moved house
the house we moved to didnt have a tv ariel
so my wife called a company to see how much it would be thay said it just depends, thay said thay could send some one out on a said day,
so she said fine with all the hussle and bussle of moveing house
she forgot about the apointment and we were out when the guy called.
i since found out the same company ripped my mate of for 200 pounds for a tv ariel.i got another company to fit one for 55 pounds.Works perfect by the way.
here is the pnch line i,ve just had a invoice of the first company for 17 pounds 50 for the missed appointment.
it,s now in the bin.
so where do we stand should we pay this or should we not?
i cant see how thay can charge us when we never got a service from them?help

Re: Paying For Nothing?

You made an appointment.
You failed to attend.
They've charged you for the half an hour of their time that you wasted.
Lucky it wasn't more.
