Ebooks: Kindle, Tablet PCs?

Hi, this is a question regarding Ebooks

I read a large amount of documents (PDFs, RTFs, DOCs, but mostly PDFs) on my desktop. Its not exactly as easy on the eyes as reading actual books or printouts, so I try to print out as much as possible, when I can afford it, but lately it is not cost effective because of the price of paper, ink, etc. Also, I'd like to be able to read on the go.

First I Googled the web in search for some service which would printout my pdf's in a double-sided book/booklet form and then mail them to me. Couldn't find anything like that. Pity, because it would be useful if it was cheaper than buying a high-end printer.

Then I've thought about getting an Amazon Kindle. Looked good at first, but then I discovered the fact that its not coming out here in UK any time soon and it cant read PDFs and DOCs i.e. Funny how Amazon.com dont market that fact and bury critical reviews to the bottom of the page. Sneaky, sneeeaky Amazon and Jeff Bezos. Nice try.

I've also thought about getting a PDA, but the screens are waay too tiny, and I dont want my eyes to shrink with fatique.

So I guess the best option is to get a tablet PC. I think there should be some good lightweight tablets with a kickass screen and a long battery life? Maybe it's going to be pricey, but its probably worth it?

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen? Should I get a tablet PC? If yes, then which particular model would you recommend? Or should I choose some other device?

I'd check out the Sony Reader mate, brilliant technology.

Take a look at the Bookeen Cybook Gen3. Can be purchased in Europe so is covered by years warranty, which you wont get if you order a Sony or Amazon from theUS.

A good guide to e-readers can be found here .
