Thanks: Gave 1,671, Got 1,105 | Looking for an item to use in my show at the Tower....
Hey all.
I know some of you know me as the long standing DJ at Blackpool's Tower Lounge. What I am after is a gadget to attach to my phone, so I can call somebody up and you can hear my voice and their voice through our speaker system. Kind of like when Ant & Dec call somebody up - you can hear both sides of the conversation.
Is there anything that does this? Ideally attaches to a mobile phone etc.
Many thanks!
Kieron.

posting what type of phone you have may be an idea. if you have an iphone then you could probably hook something up if you get one of the extension cables with mic, but using a two way splitter. you may need to make it or get someone to make it for you, but it shouldn't be too hard or expensive.
i imagine they would use expensive professional gear for tv to avoid interference etc

Any hands free kit should do the job with a small amount of rewiring - just depends on your phone and the type of kit for how easy it is.
Most kits are simply a micro phone and an ear piece speaker, so just cut the wires to the speaker and the mic and attach a couple of jacks instead and run it from a hand held micro phone..... or you could just vampire tap the kit so it works as normal and also connects to your audio equipment.

Thanks folks. Yes it's an iPhone that I am using. A hands free kit may do it...

In the conference/broadcast world this would be done with a telephone balancing unit. http://www.sonifex.co.uk/tbu/index.shtml
Using an analogue phone line, it enables (through a mixing desk with an aux output) your PA speakers to act as the telephone speaker and your system microphones to act as the telephone microphone. Just a different thought if there's a telephone socket nearby and you don't want to hand your number out to hundreds of punters! |

I would try asking five ladies on a hen night from Fleetwood to all stand in a line and show everyone their puppies .... if that fails to work, you can at least say you didn't leave a stone unturned in your search for the solution

No problems, i notice they do a more expensive one for 39 squids, but i use that one with some senheiser in ear headphones and they sound great. It did go wrong but they just gave me a new one.
