Give up the mountain biking and clubbing and go fishing more. Try other aspects of the sport.

Get yourself a quality compact digital camera and go out snapping:

Wildlife, architecture, mechanical, historical, amusing, trains, cars, bikes, boats, sunsets, industrial, odd signs, posters, astronomical, weather, gardens, stately homes, nightlife, people, pets, trees, anything unusual....

Fresh air and a hard drive full of images to play with, enjoy and remember when the weather is inclement.

If you have some big fields or a beach nearby then try a power/traction kite. Then add a buggy or a mountain board.

If you live near some hills then try just the mountain board...

Give archery a try if you have a club not too far away. It's certainly a weekend sport, gets you outside and is good for your mind; the psychological part to archery is of great benefit.

Learn a second language.

I started Italian last Sept on a beginner's course at my local college. It' great.
I also try and learn more in my spare time using books, CDs, software etc.
I've just joined a local 'Italian Language' group who meet up once or twice a week for various social activities.

Helps if you have an interest in the country but like any other hobbies it can cost a bit, depending on how far you want to go with it.

I'm off to Florence to try out what i've learnt so far!
