Question ecommerce packages

I'm looking for an ecommerce package for my wife's business, I know that they're no substitute for a professionally designed website but its early days & don't really want to commit much money at this stage.

I am currently trying the 123-reg free trial, which seems ok with plenty of back office features but if anyone uses a package/supplier that they can recommend, I would appreciate hearing from you

Re: ecommerce packages

You have it up and running already?

What kind of control do you have over page layouts? Do you have any control of databases etc?

Re: ecommerce packages

As already stated, the EKMpowershop is a good tool, for beginners.

I am a webdesigner, and would personally recommend OSCommerce.

It's free, easy to start up and fully customisable.

Took me about 45mins to do the above, plain and simple really. Control wise not sure! going to do some tweaking and rewording, trail and error really.

Looks good.

Personally I would change the yellow text, hard to read on a white screen.
