HELP! LCD screen and candle wax

Hi There not sure if this is in the right place but I'm looking for help.
My son has written over my LCD TV screen with a candle and the wax has ingrained into the screen does anyone know how I can get it off?
thanks

Re: HELP! LCD screen and candle wax

Try putting the screen in the sunlight in a room to soften the wax, try to carefully wipe the bulk of the wax away (or VERY carefully scratch with your nail) then get some alcohol or alcohol hand gel on a cloth to remove the rest, then finish off with LCD screen cleaner.

Information given at your own risk

Hi,

And, if you ever get the wax off, ban your son from coming within 10 feet of your LCD TV!

Re: HELP! LCD screen and candle wax

Ouch!

Home contents insurance any help?

If you get no joy there try a strong poly freezer bag full of crushed ice cubes over the damaged area to see if the wax will lift off easily when cold hardened. Lay the TV on its back for this. Entirely at your own risk of course.

Don't switch the TV on until you are certain it is bone dry again. Keep the screen as dry as possible with paper towels and don't let the crushed ice produce any water or it may run down into the electronics.

Don't use any scraper or a finger nail as the screen is only soft plastic sheet and marks easily and permanently.

Use no heat. It will make matters far worse. IMO.

Have you tried to use blu tak. Play with it so it goes soft and roll it lightly in the area. I use it to clean fluff of my suits and dirt from my car seats !

Re: HELP! LCD screen and candle wax

Turn TV on leave for 10 minutes, use Microfibre cloth half soaked and wrung out in Hot water and wipe hard. I have had to do it a few times on my plasma and does not seem to do any damage to the screen (done it 6 times now )

Re: HELP! LCD screen and candle wax

Don't know about LCD screen, but WD40 gets wax crayon off wallpaper (with a bit of elbow grease).
Entirely at your own risk, etc etc....
