Spaceship toy help ...80s - 90s... what's the name?

Ok so basically we had this toy when we were younger which we want to no the name of....

It was a red spacecraft which has pull out escape/fighter pods under the wings (these pods where like round cylinder shapes, there were about 2-3 under each wing).... and a kind of land/tank vehicle which came out of the back hull of the ship. There were also small figures, micro size i think which could sit in all the vehicles etc.

Sorry about the poor description but it was so long ago. Im gussing the toy was in the early 90's or mid to late 80's time period.

any ideas....?

No, we came across that when first looking. It seems similar as in the figures are the same type.

i noticed John Candy was mentioned on that website and clicked his link, it says he died during filming of 'Wagons East in Mexico' but i thought he passed away during 'Cool Runnings'....google here i come!

Nope- died during Wagons East. There are some shonky early CGI and many scenes with Candy's character facing away from the camera as testimony to it.

Haha I had mantaforce, I had the guddy and baddy ships. The guddys had a grey ship which looked like the one han solo flew in star wars. Brings back memories
