I paid £1.05/L for Unleaded today at the garage.
This is in Scotland ... £50 to fill a bloody hatchback. That's the highest price I've seen yet in my area.
How much is it in your area? and where will it stop?

Those of us who use Super Unleaded have been paying that amount for weeks
Generally, just over a quid for Vanilla Fuel. Around £1.03-07 for Diesel and £1.03-£1.10+ for Super.

I preferred your 1st attempt before the edit. TBH, there was a time when I couldn't even tell you the price of fuel because I paid no attention. Then I started to take notice out of curiousity. I think it was about .88p at that point and was amazed when I first saw it creep over the £1 mark.
Then it seemed to dip back down to the 95p mark and now it's up to £1.05. Like you say, if your go for the higher octane stuff it's about £1.10/L

Re: I paid £1.05/L for Unleaded today at the garage.
Try filling up in the lake district, on a long road to nowhere, costs a fortune, when petrol was about 90p down here in yorkshire i paid over £1 up there, dread to think of the cost now.
Atm i pay 101.9p/l at tesco, it was 99.9p until about 4 days ago, i think asda by me still has it at 99.9p but isnt worth the extra drive.
With a 60 litre tank in my icle car i cant afford to let it go below half full.

Currently pay approx 93p per litre unleaded as I live close to the Souhtern Irish border, where its cheaper.
And near Dublin you can get it for around 88p.
But the Euro keeps rising against sterling, so its creeping up for me too.

i saw that in Portsmouth the other day actually, my girlfriend was filling up her car and i was amazed how high it was. Some of the superduper diesel varieties were even higher than that!

£1.06 here in Bath for Super Unleaded.
But to be honest I can't see what the fuss is about. About 75% of the price is Tax so before we go moaning about the Oil companies lets take a look closer to home.
When you consider the Oil companies have to drill for oil, barrel it, ship it to the refineries, process it and deliver it to the pumps for about 33p per litre before the Tax is added on its a bargain.

Oh Dear, a company making money. What a crime.
Get the Government to cut the tax by 10p and we'll be back under a £1 per litre :P
