Thanks: Gave 13, Got 11 | The big Christmas day cook off !!!
Ok, so I've bought a Yorkshire Pot for Christmas day...
How do I cook it ?
(for those who don't know, a Yorkshire pot is a Quail, stuffed inside a Pheasant, stuffed inside a Duck, stuffed inside a Turkey, or variations of similar - i.e. different birds !)

EDIT: OK Maybe nevermind!! that above instructions look more related Called a 'turduckencorpheail' or similar http://www.wisegeek.com/whats-a-turducken.htm
Preparing a turducken is by no means an easy task. It requires about eight to nine hours of cooking in a 225° Fahrenheit (107° Celsius) oven, in addition to the time it takes to de-bone the turkey, chicken and duck. The shopping list to make a turducken includes a 16 to 20 pound (7.25-9 kilograms) turkey, a four to five pound (1.8-2.25 kg) duck and a three to four pound (1.36-1.8 kg) chicken.

I think you'd best ask your butcher how to cook it, as you certainly don't want to risk either over or under cooking it.

i had something similar last year from our local butchers, and i have to admit it was superb, what a great suprise it was when i carved it as i hadnt told the rest of the family what we were having. here's a link about how they are made at the place i got it from.
im sure you'll really enjoy it, one tip i would get is to get a decent meat thermometer since its such a thick piece of meat, so you can check its cooked all the way through, you dont want to have the family with the nasty suprise of "Christmas Afternoon: attack of the S**t's"

Just found this: http://www.ocado.com/webshop/getProd...ntainer=121764
Bear in mind it's for a 7kg piece so if yours is a different weight it will be different timing. Quote:
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS For best results roast in an oven. Time: 5hr45 Temperature Electric: 190°C Fan: 170°C Gas: gas 5
Pre heat oven. Remove all packaging leaving the joint in its own tray. Cover with foil. Cook in centre of oven in the foil tray. Baste occasionally. Remove the foil for the last 45 minutes. Cook thoroughly until juices run clear and there is no pink meat. Stand for 10 minutes before carving.
