Aspect ratio on youtube.

Hi all.

Dont quite know what forum to post this on, so , mods , plase move if its wrong.

Does anyone know how to keep the original aspect ratio on youtube? I have put vidoes on there in 1.85 widescreen but youtube then changes it to 4.3 and the picture then looks verticaly stretched.

can anyone help?

Re: Aspect ratio on youtube.

Try running it through Windows Movie Maker then on the movie settings bit (when you are saving the movie) select 'Other Settings' and change it to 'Video for Broadband (512Kbps)' see if that works.

Oh and the actual saving on WMM can be quite slow at times.

Re: Aspect ratio on youtube.

That's how I do the majority of my videos, any widescreen ones I upload seem to stay widescreen.

Like this one.

Worth a shot.

Re: Aspect ratio on youtube.

The videos are filmed in anamorphic widescreen, then edited in WMM and saved as 16.9 videos. When I save them though I usually use the higest quality ,PAL LARGE, or something I thnk it is. Then I just up load the WMV straight to youtube and let them sort it out from there.

I will try your way tonight and see what happens.

Thanks.

D.

This is the video I am trying to keep widescreen, you can see how they have squished it , I am not that thin!! LOL
