Re: Saving Hector
Hector should think himself lucky that he was born at all...if people didn't eat turkey he would probably never have lived...
He's had a good run but sadly (for him) it is time to make the ultimate sacrifice in the name of Christmas!
Off with his head!

Re: Saving Hector
Just found out who Hector is from the rocketing turkeys thread. So, I would like to change my vote from Who? to yes, eat with relish (or cranberry, whichever).
And well done to Jackal for actually giving a turkey a decent life and quick end. It is, I think, rather sad that so many people know so little about their food and where it comes from etc etc. So on 25/12 I shall salute you Jackal and your animal friendly ways with a glass of something expensive.
Bon apetite!

Re: Saving Hector
the fact that you have given the turkey a name, its probably better to keep it now that you are emotionally attached to it

Re: Saving Hector
You do realise that the poll is multiple choice right?

Re: Saving Hector
Asian or European Turkey ?
Firstly I said cook him, since that was Hector's sole purpose in life, he would have lived for nothing and life would have meant nothing if he went on to a ripe old age and died naturally.
2ndly what jackal has done is commendable, especially as his turkey probably ended up costing 4 or 5 times anyone elses
(putting Hector's life ahead of cost )
3rdly you should take hector on a tour of turkey farms so he can spread the good word to other turkeys
4thly If hector is spared then I suggest we make him AVF's Official Mascot (we would then need REAL pictures of him)

Re: Saving Hector
An ode to Hector:
Hector, beautiful bird that you are,
You knew that you could only go so far,
Eat and be merry with your corn,
But you'll know when you hear that horn,
Run, run, run away run,
For there comes the farmer with his gun, gun, gun,
But don't be so glum,
You'll soon be in his tum.

Re: Saving Hector
Jakal, what are you going to do if Hector dies before you do the deed?
