Royal Mail cant keep their employees happy…

But they can spend a fortune on pointless marketing campaigns.

Today in work we received 3 large parcels 355mm x 270mm x 40mm. Inside were a 1 cm deep slab of milk chocolate engraved with a letter selling their services to us. Each letter was hand personalised in dark chocolate.

I cannot begin to imagine how much this has cost them as a marketing exercise. The postage alone (admittedly they wont have paid for it) would about £3. God knows how many hundreds of thousands of these they have had produced and how much each one has cost.

What a ridicuous waste of money at a time when they are charging more to deliver simple items, cutting back services and causing their workers to strike.

Hi,

Don't forget, folks, that the Royal Mail are going to surcharge the addressed recipient by £1 (plus the excess unpaid delivery fee) for any card or parcel that is not correctly stamped!

This means, if a friend, relative or whomever sends you a particularly weird shaped Christmas card, and they only put a regular 1st Class Stamp on it, and it should have been weighed and charged at 38p, your recipient will have to a) pay the £1 surcharge, and the extra 7p, before they will be allowed to receive your card!

So, here's my suggestion:

Start sending odd-shaped and very heavy items directly to Adam Crozier, without using the right postage, and let's see how he likes it, the !

P.S. I am not advocating that anyone breaks the law, so you follow this posting, at your own peril! I am not responsible, if you foul-up, and get a visit from the Rozzers!

Re: Royal Mail cant keep their employees happy…

Would that be Adam "£1 million bonus" crozier?
or
Adam, "lets close some more post offices" crozier?

Remember, no matter how bad things are within any large company there is always a heathly budget for the marketing department
