Western Digital owes me money and I can't get it off them

Right, I had a faulty 200Gb WD sata drive and had it replaced under warranty. I had 30 dys to return the drive to them after the replacement was received and this was returned within a week. I received an invoice from them last Monday to say I had been billed to my debit card as the drive had not been returned within the 30 days. I checked with royal mail and the package had been signed for at WD on Oct 22nd. I immediately contacted WD who confirmed receipt of the drive and assured me a refund would be made to my card. By today, this has still not happened and I am just off the phone again to WD and they do not know if the refund has been actioned or not.

So, I have made 2 international calls to Germany regarding this and I have been billed in $US which means I will more than likely receive less than I had deducted when the payment was taken due to commission rates.

Can I charge WD for the phone call and shortfall in funds when the refund is made? It may only be a couple of £'s but they took the money under false pretences in the first instance.

Probably, but what is it going to cost you in further telephone calls, hassle and piece of mind to try a recover a few quid.

Assuming you get the refund I would draw a line under it and walk away and safe yourself the stress.

Cheers,

Nigel

Get your bank to reverse the transaction instead, that way you'll get the full amount back.
