Re: AV Competitions

You could always make up a new name and use a different email address to the one you registered with

(you don't have to be registered to enter comps do you?)

Re: AV Competitions

Do the people who see the postcodes really care?

There is too much better safe than sorry stuff being shown on Watchdog and in Womens Mags so much that my Big Sis is paranoid that a high value item won't come from Amazon!!!

And yes I have been a victim of fraud but continue to buy things via the net.

Re: AV Competitions

I am sure admin will answer your question when he reads the thread as he is the only person who has access to the competition details and is well aware of the data protection issues.

Re: AV Competitions

Only I have access to the database. The script I wrote to handle competitions does almost everything for me. I enter the competition details including the expiry date and the correct answer.
When the first entry received AFTER the expiry date is processed, the script closes the competition, randomly picks the winner(s) whose answers match the correct answer and emails me to tell me the competition has closed.
I then look up the winners' details from the database (via login) and email them to the person responsible for sending out the prizes. I don't even send them the winners' email addresses as standard.
I take the issue of privacy very seriously and would never EVER give out competition details to ANYONE unless permission was given in advance.
Competition rules are here and our privacy policy is here.
You can rest assured that I wouldn't give out your details and I personally am not the slightest bit interested where anyone lives.
So you are quite safe to enter the competitions. But if you still feel uncomfortable, don't enter them.

Re: AV Competitions

Can we discuss how random, random is. I always find that a hoot. Is anything trully random or can they always be cracked?
