Wearing pyjamas in public

Hordes of chavvy "pyjama mamas" going about their daily business, hair and make up perfect, in their pj's. Usually large, hoopy earrings are worn to enhance the vision of ming they exude.

Is anywhere else affected by this, is it only the greater Belfast area?

Can't say I've ever seen it around here - or anywhere else.

Re: Wearing pyjamas in public

I listened to Stephen Nolan one morning having a go at the jammy mammies!!! Started out that alot of mothers were leaving kids to school in their pj's (not really a problem) but the principal of the school decided to highlight it when they same parents were collecting thier kids in the afternoon still in thier flannels!!

Re: Wearing pyjamas in public

I guess you don't need to dress up to watch Jeremy Kyle and Trisha all day - unless it's benefit day of course.

Re: Wearing pyjamas in public

I've just heard someone on a Belfast radio station refer to this as "Shankill" or "Woodvale Tracksuits". Must be a Belfast phenomenon.

Re: Wearing pyjamas in public

Jonny I was in a 24 hour ASDA @3 in the morning There were two separate girls shopping one for groceries. one come out just for cigarettes one in a nightie buying cigarettes. The woman pushing the trolley was in her PJ's with her dressing gown over the top. they really did not give a toot.

Re: Wearing pyjamas in public

I've seen it in Moston/Harpurhey areas of Manchester - young scally mums in pyjamas walking round Asda, pushing their prams which generally contain at least one grubby child whom is usually clutching a Greggs pasty and sipping coke out of their baby bottle - massive round gold earrings are always in evidence, both on mum and baby.

You wouldn't bothered getting changed if a Vogon fleet were about to blow up your planet to make way for a new hyperspace bypass!
