moderator question

How come every week it seems there is a new moderator appointed is there a secret society on hear a place where us ordinary folk do not see cant access. Is it a democratic process job for the boys or how dose it work. I was surprised to say the least unique is now the moderator of the Music forum. Personally i cant think of a better choice. Well done

But please tell us how dose this process all work.

It's very similar to the way cardinals elect a new pope. All the existing moderators gather in a virtual darkened room and argue about who the new moderator should be. If they fail to reach a decision on the first vote, black smoke is sent from the virtual chimney, and they have to go through another round of voting. They aren't allowed out until they all agree, whereupon white smoke is sent from the chimney, and general rejoicing is heard throughout the land.

I meant it think its a good choice really do. There no sarcasm there leave that to the experts just mere observations.

Just amazed thats all at all the new moderator names. seem new ones every week. Never seen an ad for one ether. Not that i would look.

Names forgive are that new to me never heard of any of them before. Was wondering whether there was AV forums bar somewhere where the clique gathered.

Re: moderator question

We meet on a private yacht on the Thames (sponsored by AVForums) on alternate Fridays to discuss world domination and the appointment of new Mods. Otherwise njp was pretty close. Unique is a special case and flies in on his private Lear jet from somewhere remote, I haven't worked out where yet. When I gett my 00 status they might tell me.

Rubbish! We know that you lot are a bunch of reclusive weirdo's who never leave your houses, and spend all day sitting on a pile of human skulls polishing your shotguns in preperation for Armageddon.

On another note, do you have a designated 'evil' moderator?

I think Lfc is being groomed for that position. A 20 yr old mod just sends shivers down my spine.

Re: moderator question

I've no idea how moderators get appointed. Seems you can be on here 24/7 offering help and advice across a broad spectrum of subjects and still get overlooked.

Then new members with 6 months of history get appointed.

"Jobs for the boys" is the old saying.

What else are we to believe? There's no nomination process, no consensus from the community, no input from members who have been here for years.

So we are led to believe it's a closed community that decides such matters. As I say, moderators spring up with just a few months service. Where do they come from, who are they, who recommended them.

'tis quite sad, yes.....

So do you guys have actual 9-5jobs and do this mod malarkey on the sly or is it a full time sit on the net and read every post 24/7?

I wish it was just 9-5 Yes, most of the mods have full time jobs and give their time freely to keep the forums running smoothly whilst juggling normal family lives
