quiet 80's style newsagents in London (or Maidstone)

we are making a short film and need a quiet, out of the way newsagents either in London or Maidstone, Kent. i hoped there might be some locals who could help me find the hidden gems!

the perfect place needs to:

- be off the main road so we can film without too much traffic noise or disruption

- be not too urban looking, it needs to pass for a small town newsagents and not a London one

- be old enough in its design that it could be a newsagent from the late 1980's as this is when the film is set (although we can dress it to look more of the era so this isn't as important)

anyone have a local newsagents that fits the bill?

any help very much appreciated.. if it leads to us actually using the location then we'll put your name on the credits, invite you to a screening of the film and get you a dvd of the finished product!

thanks all

no wandsworth locals out there?

id prefer wandsworth.... but can spread further if need be.... greater london or maybe maidstone in kent...

if you dont know about the exterior, maybe you know of the perfect interior (again pref wandsworth but otherwise greater London or maybe maidstone) the perfect interior has the magazines on the back wall (opposite the doors as you walk in) and the counter/til on the left hand side...

does this ring any bells with anyone?
(interior and exterior can be different newsagents but easier if not)

Re: quiet newsagents in London borough of Wandsworth

There are lots of newsagents in Ealing (not too far from Wandsworth), and they are always filming around these parts. I suggest a drive down South Ealing Road, near the Ealing Studios. Not as busy as wandswoth or putney. Or maybe there's a nice one in Barnes?

thanks all... we did find a newsagents we liked in Wandsworth but it's fallen through so we are now desperately searching again!

this time, we've opened the search up to all of London and Maidstone!
