random question about glossop

Anybody from Glossop know what the rocket shaped Chimney in Glossop is used for? it looks derelict, are there any plans to demolish it?

Someone told me it's used to belong to Ferro-Alloys, not sure if this is correct.

Re: random question about glossop

Is this it : see page 19 on pdf http://www.rcep.org.uk/pdf/salford.pdf

Yes it did belong to Ferro Alloys, there was a lot of complaints about emissions from the chimney. Can't seem to see any info about it currently ?

Thanks for that, on page 19 it states production ended in 1996, I wonder why no-one has demolished it
