Thanks: Gave 117, Got 32 | Birthday Present for a 30th
OK,
I want some help if I may.
Its my sisters boyfriends 30th soon.
We are very similar which is why its hard to decide what to get him.
He has just got a 360 and loves it but is asking for games, which I understand but you want to get him something special.
However the idea I would go for is just too far out of budget, (Topfield PVR)
So this is the dilema. I want to get something special but don't want to have to sell a kidney to get it.
I am looking for maybe a gadget that wont just sit on a shelf for ever.
Has any one here been given a great gift.
Or knows of a great idea for a gift that I can give?
He is into Cars,
Films (has a nice home Hifi Set up)
Games
Mountain Bikes
and stuff.

xBox steering wheel. http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/6-/Searc...l)&match_type=
Don't know if that's too pricy. But would make a great addition to any driving games.

Have you looked through the "I want one of those" web site? http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/
Also play.com has a gadget area and thinkgeek is good too.

If hes serious into mountain biking then something for that is always appreciated....depends how into it he is though if its just a leisurly thing then maybe not but if serious out all the time rider then maybe a spanky flash helmet probably cost you 80 quid for a really nice one!!

Cheers for the ideas guys,
He doesn't smoke so the novelty ashtray wouldn't fit.
The steering wheel is a great idea but again along the game route, but def an option.
See Firebox and I want one of those. Thinking about the RC helicopter etc.
Biking he is very into. He wants a £1000 frame, (suprisingly we all said on you bike)
But not sure what he may need for the bike and as I am not a rider I have no idea what would be useful.
Because of the cars he has loads of tools.
Ohh its a mine field

I remember him wanting one of these a while back to go biking with.
Has anyone used one or know of a good make to do it?

Aria Technology (aria.co.uk) have helicopters in their super specials are for a tenner - probably about a £5er for postage but you could send that as part of a present?

What about a track day or an airfield day? This would depend on your budget (between £100 and £200) and if his car is up to it (or you could hire one at the circuit)? I'd prefer a trackday to a 'driving experience' in a Porsche or Ferrari because you'd get 20x more time in the car.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but I'm into gadgets and have allsorts but the best and most used thing I have is a harmony 360 all in one remote, which controls my 360, media centre, TV, VHS, projector, surround sound and air conditioning.
Cost about £80 but from the US only I think, I ordered mine on Amazon and it took a few days to come.

As he's into film, might be worth checking out the threads at the DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Movie Bargains forum: www.avforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=49
- for any good deals on boxsets etc that he might enjoy
However if its your first time at that forum, be warned it may cost you a lot of money over the next few years

Thought about a head video camera for his mountain biking.
Anyone used one, know of a good deal?
