Consumer rights question

I bought a video card from another member here and it went faulty after a few months. When I checked, it was still under warranty and so contacted the etailer it was bought from, overclockers.co.uk. They asked me to send it back to them for repair/replacement, which I did at my own expense. A few weeks later they told me it was being replaced and they were waiting for the replacement from the manufacturer. On Monday this week, overclockers told me that the card had arrived but it was going to cost me £14.95 to have this shipped to me with Citylink, as it had been bought "over the counter" from them.

Is this acceptable business practice?

Re: Consumer rights question

It is acceptable as it was originally purchased in store, however I do think that 15 quid to post it out is taking the mick, a fiver would surely do for rmsd and it would be insured.

Re: Consumer rights question

A City Link next day delivery costs £10 +VAT up to 10kg.
Then you have the cost of someone in the warehouse packaging and processing it.

I wouldn't expect a company that sends a lot of stuff to use Royal Mail mail service, too much hassle and not worth it.
