Sunday joint a dog can enjoy

Hi Guys

we recently got ourselves a rescue dog and all is going VERY well however, we would like to enjoy a Sunday roast, what "bone" can they eat?

I know Chicken is a bad idea for example....

Thanks in advance!

I think a dog can eat pretty much any bone, you just have to watch out for anything small and liable to splinter.

Re: Sunday joint a dog can enjoy

Never ever, I'll repeat that, Never ever give your dog a cooked bone. Ever. Never.

Believe it or not the best bones for a dog are RAW chicken bones. We feed our two spaniels on them from puppies. The bones are honeycombed when RAW and will not splinter. If you get chicken wing tips they are also full of goodness that helps lubricate the dogs joints. Another good bone is breast of lamb, again given RAW.

The main reason for giving both these bones is that both chicken, or any fowl, would be the natural prey for a dog. Lambs and animals of that size would also make good prey. This diet is well documented and known as the BARF diet (bones and raw food). It is easily found by doing a Google search.
