The iPhone might be good but with the Apple faithful clearly ready to buy it come what may, it doesn't exactly put pressure on Apple to excel does it? |
To be honest I only use my current mobile as a phone. I very rarely bother with any of the other features - especially internet access. I don't even text that much. My preference is also robust basic functionality, and to be of a convenient size and weight. But there is also a great appeal (to me, and obviously many others) in highly functional, handy-but-not-strictly-necessary
toys devices, and a place for both phones in my world (although not in my pocket, at least not at the same time).
I don't believe that the iPhone will achieve high sales if it turns out to have poor performance - but with Apple's track record I don't believe this will be the case. I believe it is also possible to update the phone software online, allowing for the easy elimination of teething problems with the software.
Oh, and for quite some time now Apple's target audience has been far wider than the Apple faithful (e.g. PC compatibility for iTunes/iPods).

And any fule kno that the 1st generation Nano was far better looking than the gen2 ones. A clear retrograde step.

I prefer the newer aluminium models myself, but obviously it's personal preference.
