Thanks: Gave 481, Got 254 | Another Electric Razor Needed. Recommendations Please.
I can't seem to find a decent electric razor.
I have thick, heavy growth and have got through loads of different razors over the years.
Whenever I try and find reviews they only seem to tell you about features etc, or how fast they recharge, how noisy they are, what pretty lights they have etc.
I can find out all about the features by reading the box.
All I really want to know is how effective they are at removing my stubble and if they will last more than 3 months before the foil falls apart.
Any advice please

see this article; http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/...vingc_tqbu.htm
Quote: " Enough with the razor itself, though. Consider whether you want an electric shaver at all. Electric razors often don't shave as close as a blade. That means you may have to use the shaver more often or have more stubble-shadow showing. If you have fair-colored hair, that might not be an issue. If your beard or leg hair is very dark and you need a close shave, an electric might not be your best choice. Also, if you want to save a little time, you might find that a blade is faster.
Also, because electric razors may require you to go over the same area multiple time (more often than with a blade, anyway), people with sensitive skin might want to think twice about electric razors and go for a disposable blade shaver and a good shaving cream for sensitive skin. This can be especially true if you have coarse hair to shave. On the other hand, an advantage of an electric razor is that the possibility of nicks and cuts is more remote than with a blade. "
And I believe that placing a very hot flannel over beard area before shaving helps soften course hair so making shaving easier and prolonging the life of the blades I think it's the same old thing, the more you spend the better you get - I bought Signs the snazzy Philishave at near £200 with 3 cutting heads, they have lasted ages but the cost to replace is high (see http://www.shavers.co.uk/shopping.php?product_id=454 on offer and worth it) - think you need an electric shaver with cutting blades like this one rather than foils.

You seem to have 2 choices
1 - Desperate Dan method..... use a blow lamp
2 - Grow a beard

Try a blade for a few weeks. You may find it is more effective/quicker than a electric razor.

My trouble is, if I wetshave a couple of times or more in a row, I break out in a terrible shavers rash.
I can get away with it once every 4 or 5 days but no more.

It's a bit more expensive than traditional foam but lasts for ages and all the supermarkets sell it. False economy to use cheap blades as well - I have just swapped over to Gillette Fusion, very close smooth shave and I usually get 3/4 shaves out of one blade so they last pretty well (compared to cheapo single/twin blades).
I suffer from sensitive skin and wouldn't go back to an electric razor for love nor money.
