Re: Fairground riders kept hanging on

Not a very nice experience i bet.

Myself and the wife are a couple of coaster nutters and have been stuck three times on various rides.
  1. At the top of Collossus lifthill at Thorpe Park for about 20 minutes
  2. On Air at Alton Towers for over an hour in the forward lying position when the train failed to return to the "Sitting" position when it returned to the station
  3. We also got stuck at the top of the Detonator drop tower at Thorpe park when the solenoid failed to release the car. After 20 minutes being up there an engineer fixed it and dropped us without warning which i admit was a bit of a heart stopper

Re: Fairground riders kept hanging on

I was on a rollercoaster once at the fair with my mates, when halfway up the ramp, the safety bar clamped over my shoulders decided to release itself back into the upright position, and stay there

Scene: 13 year old boy standing up in the rollercoaster, almost at the top of the chain, about to plunge 50ft into a 360 loop, with 5 of his mates crying with laughter at his imminent comedy death.

(Arms waving) ''stop the ride!, stop the ride!, stop the ride!, stop the ride!, stop the ride!, stop the ride!, stop the ride!''

It was actually the best rollercoaster ride I've ever had.

- I wouldn't normally be such a wimp about things.... but for half an hour beforehand, we'd been standing at the side of the 360 loop, catching things that fell from peoples pockets as they went upside-down..!
