Talking Michael Jackson's "Thriller" gets an Indian makeover.

It gave my chuckle muscles a work out!

Although this isn't Bollywood (i.e Hindi films made in Bombay)
- its a Telugu movie clip (the language of Andhra Pradesh state in south India - though the movies are made in Madras/Chennai in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu); my "mother tongue" ... and I hate all these films too!

Cheers for the correction but everything that makes me cringe like that is "Bollywood" (in my eyes anyway)!

I never understood how it took 3 hours for man to find woman, woman to be kidnapped by baddie, man to learn some sort of martial art and kill baddie to get back woman. Obviously with a few interludes of music, hills and clothing changes with every scene change.

don't forget the village idiot (possibly a midget), wicked moneylender, the elderly mother and/or father having a heart attack and/or stroke and possibly falling down the stairs before they die etc etc

... and the baddie(s) will usually smoke, be a bit stubbly/bearded and ride a motorbike

I watched some of what I think was a Bollywood film recently.

The film was Dhoom2 (sp?). Complete doo doo but the women were flipping lovely.

Re: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" gets an Indian makeover.

As much as i dislike the "Asian" movie market/scene, you really cannot escape it.
I went to Pakistan around 4 years ago and i swear they had the soundtrack to movie 6 months before the film was released.

The Hollywood guys would like to take a chunk out of the "Asian" movie scene, the only downside to Asian movies is the amount of copy's you would get.

Asian movies are off shoots of successful "English/Hollywood" movies hence the story writer get nothing and all the budget is focused on employing sexy women to reveal a bit of skin.

What really put me off and actually i find insulting is the fact that they use "White" women when a scene is a little revealing and then bring the "Asian" women back into the shot when the "sexy" scene is gone. This is showing the industry up in my opinion and actually shows how shallow the industry has got.

On the note of Asian people i wonder why large company's ( thank you DFS) don't advertise of Asian cable or sat channels. They is a market they simply wont get into. Empire direct is a good company sponsor of most Asian channels and tbh as they are Asians they would not count.

Re: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" gets an Indian makeover.

I've stopped watching any Bollywood films. I'm tired of the...

boy meets girl
DANCE!
father says no
DANCE!
boy runs off with girl
DANCE!
father smites boy with loads of fancying words, putting him in his place
DANCE!

Last film I watched was Kabhi Khusi Kabhi Gham. Think I might start watching them again, starting with Black.

Re: Michael Jackson's "Thriller" gets an Indian makeover.

Bollywood movies in quality of picture and sound except the storyline are coming inline with hollywood. The special effects are sent here to the uk. Story lines are nicked from the U.S.
