Thanks: Gave 30, Got 128 | Ironic "On-Hold" music
I was just on with Samsung Customer Support about a faulty hard drive controller. When I was put on hold, the Eagles' "I Can't Tell You Why" was playing. Not a good omen.
Anyone else here experienced ironic "On-Hold" music?

One of the companies I called regularly used to play out their local radio station.
When I called once, it was was playing "I'm still waiting" by Diana Ross.

I had to ring HP last month after hearing the Eagles 'Tequila Sunrise' they then played 'Freebird', it was the full album version so I knew I was in for a long wait. Then they had the cheek to play 'Since you've been gone' |

I remember when Carphone Warehouse used to use the Stereophonic's tune 'Connected'. Used to make me grin when I heard the line "...Something aint right..." - Too right there aint.

I sat waiting for a response from Virginmedia for an hour and ten minutes last night.
They played the same song over and over and over again.
Don't ask me what it was, but the lyrics for line after repetitious line ended in anything that rhymed with ite eg:
Better than dynamite
Better than Brooklyn bridge at night
Blather Blather Blather
Over and over again for SEVENTY MINUTES
I felt like smashing the bloody phone with a sledge hammer.
I bet someone will post now saying what a great song it is.

i used the instrumental versions of pet sounds, from the box set, as oh hold music at an old office, after i heard someone like AT&T had comissioned an orchestral version of the album for thier own on hold music. i don't think any of the customers had a scooby what it was. that william orbit classical album missed the point too. obviously none of the callers were observer or guardian readers. i should have stuck some crap like sealion dionne on instead
