the ***** hawks have returned. grrr!

Gulls that is or Mr and Mrs Sydney as my wife prefers to call them This is the fourth spring in succession they have been here and will stay until July sqwaking away ( "he" does whilst "she" lets out this plaintive cry) from day break till dawn All because the missus insists on feeding them so we end upo with our yard coverd in bits of cat food and gull ***** . On e day I walked into the kitchen and there it was bold as brass , the cats having legged it , looking for some grub.Of course it panicked when it saw me and try to fly through a window which happened to be closed . Well I did pick it up and let it out . I am not cruel , but why do some women feel the need to feed wild animals and give them names? THEY ARE NOT PETS! Its this fluffy bunny couchie couchie mentality they have.I DO NOT LIIKE BEING WOKEN UP AT 5.30 BY SQWACK SQWACK SQWACK . Wifey rushes down , errr I am bored now........................Bye

Modern eco friendly car paint really doesn't cope well with bird **** so you should wash it off ASAP.

Re: the ***** hawks have returned. grrr!

I'm sure Gulls are getting bigger and bigger, I wonder what Mrs LGS is feeding them?
And I'm sure that are laughing at us all the time. We saw one riding on the roof of a bus in the city centre a month or so ago, he was laughing as well!

yeah the paint underneath the lacquer on new cars is water based so will not be very happy with bird poo attacking it.

Re: the ***** hawks have returned. grrr!

I've had a struggle but I've managed t stop Mrs Shodan from feeding the birds in our garden. I gently explained that if we do that then all the neighbourhood cats will come round to get their dinner on the fly (groan) and Jake, our dog, will be constantly stressed, trying to get out into the garden and stressing us out!

Of course, nothing to say she won't start feeding them in the summer anyway...

Mod comment. Your idea of alternative is not very welcome in GC. Please do not suggest ways of killing animals. This is a family forum.

Re: the ***** hawks have returned. grrr!

That is an urban legend. Birds also eat rice from rice fields They're not going to explode and die. The only danger rice on the floor poses are to humans who may slip on them

Tell the wife to stop. Garden birds yes. Why someone would feed feathered rats (they and pigeons) is beyond me
