Thanks: Gave 34, Got 2 | medical problem:advice needed please
Hi all.
About an hour ago my ears suddenly became very itchy so i thought i would use an earbud to scratch inside, however when i looked at bud it was soaked in blood, did the other ear and same thing. also had blood in mouth but not from coughing up as nothing was in phlegm.
i have not hit head or anything and i don't feel ill but i did get very wound up from a family argument earlier in the day could this have done anything? cheers.

Presuming you are not John Terry then I'd ring NHS direct asap. http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/

Call the NHS Direct telephone service on 0845 4647 at any time of the day or night. If you are having trouble connecting, you can also call 0845 46 47 647.
You will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself and to describe the nature of your call. If you need advice about a health problem, you are asked if you are calling for yourself or on behalf of someone else and are asked to explain:- What the symptoms are, how they affect you/the person and when they began.
- What you/the person have tried already.
- Any drugs you/the person are already taking.
- Any existing medical conditions.
- Anything else you think is relevant.
If you are calling on behalf of someone else, that person needs to be in the same room as you so that the nurse can accurately assess their symptoms. NHS Direct nurses will use their skills and experience, together with a comprehensive computer system, to advise you on the most appropriate course of action to take.
With the right advice and information, lots of non-serious health problems can be treated at home or following a visit to your local pharmacist. If the problem is more serious, you may need to see your doctor or go to hospital. Whatever the problem, the NHS Direct nurse will listen to the symptoms you describe and advise you what to do for the best. If your problem is very serious, they will connect you to the ambulance service.
NHS Direct staff can also provide information on a wide range of healthcare topics – from helping you to find out more about diagnosed conditions and treatments to giving details of local health services.
Calls to NHS Direct cost a maximum of five pence per minute from a BT landline. The cost of calls from mobiles and other networks may vary. Your service provider may charge a minimum cost per call. For patients’ safety, calls to NHS Direct are recorded.
NB: If you live in Scotland you can use NHS24 on 08454 24 24 24. The NHS Helpline is still available to all people in Scotland on 0800 22 44 88.

Have you been listening to a Bose sound system
They are often responsible for bleeding ears.

I've been watching a lot of House and I think it's some sort of mental abnormality that's causing you to ask serious medical questions that need urgent attention on a electronics forum. My guess is that you ask doctors if you should buy an LCD or a Plasma.
Go to A&E, call a taxi if no one can drive you.

Any kind of fluid from the ears should be allowed to run out do not attempt to stem the flow from them and seek medical help NOW......

The blood is probably caused by the cleaning with cotton buds. Do you have eczema? This can make the skin inside the ears very tender especially when rubbed with those buds (my sister had a similar thing).
Hope you have been to the doc's already.
Let us know how you get on with this!
