Can anyone explain the logic or justice in this to me?

You mean the fact he never learned his lesson from being jailed before, or the fact he only served 3 years of the original 6yrs?
Or the fact that he probably will only serve 12months of this 2 yr sentence?

Edit:
Just read it again and it seems he did'nt even serve 3yrs originally, unless he was held on remand for some time before the trail
