Democracy any chance of a return?

Has anyone noticed how in a few short years this gov't has erroded our right to democracy?

1). Can't speak freely cos you might upset someone
2). Can't say how you feel and what is on your mind cos it may upset someone.
3). Have to appease minorities for fear of offense (what ever happened to free speech see above).
4). Taxed to death cos some jock can't do accounts (Brown we know who you are).
5). Caving in to terrosists in NI who are murdering scum and deserve to die.

These are just a few of my rants about the so called modern age. I feel sorry for the future cos it aint good I used to love this country with a passion even went to the Gulf, Bosnia for the sake of democracy. We need new leaders who are strong and capable of leading our country forward and not dragging it down with stupid rights for everyone else except its citizens.

sorry have to say this but its becoming daft

feel free to flame etc im just expresing my opinion i've had enough

Just in case you decide to edit some more.........

Do you think democracy is the right to call people 'scum' and put minorities in their place?

Re: Democracy any chance of a return?

I think that murderers are scum and no no-one has their place but i think we have gone too far. I know a lot of people who are fed up with feeling second class and just want the basic right to free speech.

Re: Democracy any chance of a return?

So many of my relatives serve in the forces (including a rear admiral) and I think they would all agree that tolerance and peace within our time are the things we need to fight for.

Stopping the the fact that 12-16 year old kids are beyond the law would be my biggest priority.

If you have been in the forces, maybe you would understand the root cause of the problems in this country and I think that is a lack of respect!

Re: Democracy any chance of a return?

I understand what you are saying jakal. I am ex forces and understand tolerance but when it undermines our basic principles it beggars belief.
In Bosnia they hated each other with a passion that is hard to describe I dont want to see that here.
I just want all to get on and that we live as one country not divided.

Re: Democracy any chance of a return?

I have to admit and I am sorry that I reported your post as I thought it was going to turn into a racist tirade - please accept my apologies.

However I think if you were honest with yourself you would realise that the root evil in this country is the breakdown of familial relationships and the general lack of lawfulness that we see on the streets.

As much as I absolutley hate these so called Islamic radicals that have caused death and destruction here, it is only a side show for the wider breakdown of mainly white society in this once proud nation of ours.

Seeing as this is still a democracy you still have every right to free speech. The fact that you can join a far right organisation such as the BNP or NF and speak publically against multicultiarism should be evidence enough for you.

I hate to say it but whenever I see a thread like this talking about freedom of speech surrounding ethnic minorities, then I feel those people are asking for the right to be able to call people N*gger, P*ki, Ch*nk or whatever.....

Re: Democracy any chance of a return?

Jakal, although I have also seen posts that start this way turn racist pretty quickly normski hasn't done so here.

normski2006, we have had a number of threads very similar to this one recently, so I think I'll close it now:

A) to avoid repetition, and;
B) before it does deteriorate.
