Neff electric hob query

Caretaking huge flat at the moment, and kitchenette where i am has one of these low profile electric hobs by Neff. Now cant find the relevant manual on the Neff website to answer my question.

...which is, when I cycle through the temp setting it goes 1 1. 2 2. 3 3. 4 4. 5 5. etc.
What I want to know is what does the setting with the . (dot) mean

Any ideas?

Its a brilliant bit of kit and can boil water in know time at all...quicker than my kettle LOL. Still prefer gas for serious cooking tho!

I tried to make a toasted cheese sandwich in our new cooker a couple of months ago and just couldn't get the grill to warm up. Needless to say my wife had "tidied up" the manual so that I couldn't find it and had to have an ordinary cheese sandwich for lunch instead.

It may well be a half measure between 1 and 2, and 2 and 3 etc. What's the model number? - I'll see if I can speak to a few people I know with a good amount of in depth Neff knowledge - judging by the speed of the thing it sound like an induction model to me.

Hi Digger,

I have a three year old Neff induction hob. It certainly heats up quickly, and once I got used to it I vowed I would never buy a different hob.

I have just been looking for the instruction manual but, like Ian's wife, I have tidied it away. I will look tomorrow and post the model number and if necessary can copy the manual for you and send it snail mail. There is no model number on the actual hob. Mine has a curved section in the front for the touch sensors. This model has four different size "rings" and an oblong section (warming) in the centre. Mine doesn't show 1.1, 2.2, just 1 flashing and subsequent numbers, dependant on the number of times I press the + button. It may be an older or newer model.

Thanks Boys and Girl . Just to clarify it cycles 1 then 1. then 2 then 2. etc and then on till 9 where I can press P which goes into ultra turbo nuclear reactor mode and glows green...

Ok according to label on underside e-Nr (their nomenclature) its a T4742N0 which fails to pull up a manual from their website when i looked the other day. I thought it might put it into a different mode or something.

I think it probably is a "half" indicator as t-force suggests...

Hardly a major issue and not too worried about it...I'm just the kinda person who likes to understand how inanimate object things work...given up with live things - just too complex (read women... )
