There are 2 inputs/outputs ( whatever there called lol) one audio, one visual and need this to connect to the cable box in the other room. What do i need to connect to the cable. Need help on this pleassse.
The sparky tried and ended up blowing my lcd tv up

Re: installing tv in bathroom

Sounds dodgy, TVs have high internal voltages and capacitors, bathrooms have high levels of moisture, the only switch allowed in a bathroom is a pull switch, razor sockets have to have a double wound transformer etc. If you could make a screen visible but have all the switches and controls outside you could do it. Perhaps take some of a wall out and put a glass screen in with the TV behind it. Or carry in a small battery powered one.

I worked as an electrician for years and I wouldn't touch this.

In a bathroom you have a better path to Earth through the pipes and water and I think it's just too dangerous.

Re: installing tv in bathroom

You can have a TV in a bathroom, but its best to use one that's designed for that.

There are a number of places that sell them, this is one http://www.waterprooftv.co.uk/

Re: installing tv in bathroom

Its a specialist tv designed for the bathroom! and isn't going to be a hazard. Its powered, its not that thats the problem its the connections i need to connect it straight to cable box, i have only ever had scarts. I need to know what to get and where i can get them from.

Thanks Richard, Had a look at that website and gives me a rough idea, any idea where i can get the cabling from, other than paying extortionate prices for currys/comets.

I am guessing the "input/outputs" on the TV are a yellow one (composite video) and a white one (audio) in which case you simply need to run wires from these to your cable box. If you cable box has a spare scart output then you can buy a little Scart to composite/left and right audio converter at your local Supermarket/electrics shops. You'll need a two into one connection for the audio though as you say your TV only has one socket but most audio is stereo these days
