Oh God, does this mean the BBC and other news crews will be camping out there bringing live broadcasts from the fields for the next month They're bound to go over the top about it as usual.

Do you honestly see tens of thousands ever dying from this flu like they are continually telling us? Cos I don't ever see it happening.

Yeah, but medical advances since 1918 have been enormous.
We aren't going to have hundreds of thousands or millions dying from bird flu.

This could be disastrous. At higher levels in key critical industries a hell of a lot of contingency has been discussed and formed ready to put into place if god forbid the disease crosses the species barrier.
This could potentially be catastrophic and as others have said, replicate some of the major events in world history.

The drugs that would be available will be the ones for current strains and no one knows if this will have any effect. These stocks are also in limited supply and I guess will be distributed accordingly... gov officials, police, army, doctors etc.

Still, it won't stop the press having a field day, some very nasty people cashing in on the fear, and some very vulnerable people getting even more scared to step out of their front doors than they are already.
I don't know about you, but I don't spend 13 hours a day inhaling bird poop like the people in Asia who caught the disease did.
