The ban was still going on?!

Honestly I had no idea! Bear in mind I'm down here for uni from Manchester where there is plenty of rain... not to mention the tap water tastes like water instead of whatever it is down here!

It still is on in my area (South East Water). But their web site says that they will review this at the end of January - presumably after the directors have finished counting their bonuses for high performance.

Re: Thames water lifts hosepipe ban.

Now I feel guilty. There is prolific water wastage in halls of residence, given there is a flat weekly bill

Now I'm thinking piping water from the North isn't a bad idea. It rains enough plus you Londoners can taste how water should actually taste. I have to buy squash or mineral water just to quench my thirst! /Rant over

There hasn't exactly been a shortage of rain where I live recently, but it probably is lower on average in the South. I'm not sure about the economics of shifting it around the country though.

I find the tap water tastes OK (in an emergency) but then I'm used to it. I think anything deadly is generally quite well diluted.
