Re: DVD to Divx....How?

freebie tool called auto gknot is blinding for this.

also, hunt down dvd decrypter

the author received a cease and desist order from the film companies for it so he doesnt host it anymore but plenty of places do

Re: DVD to Divx....How?

Here you go Pete

DVD to MPEG4(AVI) format - so many to choose from!

I use pocket divxencoder (free) - you can upgrade to Lathe if you like it (£3)

Re: DVD to Divx....How?

The way I do it (entirely for legal backup purposes I should add, so that I can put all my DVDs in a box, and have my films all together on hard disk) is ...

1) Copy the film section of a DVD to your computer using Smart Ripper, then
2) convert the film to DivX using "Dr. DivX"

This used to be available from the DivX website, but I think they have changed the name now. Dr. DivX is incredibally straightforward, so I would assume the new verison will be just as good. There is a free trial on the dowload too, so worth a look.

Hope that helps!
