13.1

sorry if this is a repeat ive had a look through the forums and couldnt find anything
well i was just reading that hdmi v1.3 :confused is going to be capable of delivering 13.1 sound (good news for speaker and wire makers) but where are you going to hide all the wire (ok wireless) where are you going to mount the speakers this is not funny a few years ago people would never have dreamed of having 6 speakers in their front room not too bad 7 or 8 a bit of a problem for some people but 14 how do you see it (2 centre 4 front 4 side 3 back and sub) what do you reckon

Re: 13.1

i've got 11 speakers and a sub already packed in my room

7.1 with 2 pairs of bi/dipoles for movies, then 5.1 m/c music uses same front three, but a pair of monopole rears, then my normal stereo use speakers....and the sub

so having 13.1 for home cinema wouldnt bother me too much...lol....altho being honest i think in my current room size its probably slightly overkill....heh but in a decent size room, say 30x20ft, having a few more pairs could well prove interesting......altho personally i feel rather than more pairs at the sides, pairs on the ceiling or floor around you would make more sense to create a truly enveloping and panning sound field....

Re: 13.1

size is the issue i have. if you have to space to warrant a system this big then go for it. I know where I would start though setting it up. The amp! The new denon as seen on audioholics WOW!

Re: 13.1

well you guys are up for it so (do you hold the record for the most speakers in a room on av forums then knyghtbyte) it looks like 13.1 it is then if not more i dont know how far off it is i suppose it will go up 9.1, 11.1 etc (i presume ninja was talking about the dennon 5805 which is 9.1 capable)

but stereo is stereo and will probably stay with us so what is home cinema standard 5.1 or will that become redundant will say 6.1 or 7.1 be the standard, taking the average house into consideration as it looks like 5.1 has already gone out of fashion(while 5.1 is still being catered for)
