Re: Walkie Talkies

cant recommend anything, other than make sure what you buy is legal for the country you are going to if abroad (or here if skiing here).....some equipment cant be owned by civilians due to what it is able to pick up/transmit to/interfere with/etc.....

Re: Walkie Talkies

Skiing in Europe so hopefully not going to be confused with someone trying to launch a nuclear missile with a walkie talkie like they think everyone is plotting in USA - Cos it's happened so many times before ROFL!

lol, dont think its nuclear missiles that are a problem, usually its a worry of people broadcasting on emergency services channels and the suchlike, or trying to eavesdrop on conversations being held in private by official people...

some countries can be extremely strict on these sorts of things being adhered to, given it isnt the norm to take walkie talkies with you places it would be a worthwhile idea to make sure before you go
(and when i say strict, it could end up in a criminal offence situation....)

Motorola are pretty good.

Argos and others sell them.

Re: Walkie Talkies

We took walkie talkies with us a few years ago when we went to Australia. They were very useful when we went to theme parks and got split up.

Had no problem taking them on the plane (and we went to Jakarta, Bali, & Singapore too)

My recommendation would be to take a cheap pair but go for the ones with rubber edges as you will most likely drop them a few times.

Isn't using mobile phones an option? That way you wouldn't look as if you were in charge of the resort's cleaning staff

As above, I heard that motorola are the best.

Remember, if you get stuck under snow after an avalanche you will be disoreintated and unable to tell which way is up - all you do is dribble this will always go downwards so you can try to go in the opposite direction.

Enjoy your holiday
