Hi am looking to rip all my dvds onto my hard drive and them convert them to divx. out of you experinced computer boffins can anyone recommend me the best program software to rip my dvds onto my hard drive then convert them over to divx.
also what will be the best settings to use when converting to divx

i cant seem to conver all the dvd to divx only 1 stage at a time, also says cant convert to divx as i dont have the installation?
there should be easier programs than this

or use "fairuse" to back up /convert YOUR OWNED COLLECTION as i have . Oh and its a free program. http://www.fairusewizard.com/lang_en/
Easy to use and quick to encode. Job iz ze good von!

there should be easier programs than this | You need to install the DivX codec yourself, but I would stick with XviD. You'll only be able to convert the actual movie itself into XviD (AVI), not menus etc. Quote:

still cant get them to convert to divx once i ruipped them to my hard drive with either program

it takes a long time still got 1 hour 50 to go.
cant be bothered doing this for my 112 dvd collection lol
either that or get a faster pc
