I was just standing at a bus stop waiting for number 10 when this idiot knocks me arm forward as he was pulling up. Admittedly I was standing on the edge of the pavement looking away from where the bus came from, but surely he would have noiticed me and beeped or pulled up 1 1/ft from the pavement. What got me is that he blamed me for getting hit. I tell ya the air was blue . I dont usually f and blind loud but there were quite a few shocked bystanders around

Personally I can't help feeling you're more in the wrong. Take comfort in the fact that it wouldn't have hurt any less if it had been a single deck bus

I have similar problems driving a van around London (although fortunately I havn't hit anyone yet!). People cram right up to the side of the street particularly on traffic islands but I actually need that part of the road to make the turn.

If I'd had my arm stretched out then you'd have a point. It wasnt! I was just standing looking away from where the bus was coming from( which in itself was not entirely sensible I admit) with my arm hanging at a slight angle. I f I'd been an old geezer he would have knocked me over, I might have broken something and in my book he would have been liable. Same as if I knocked someone over with my car I would feel liable if they had been standing on the pavement.What anoyed me was his attitude. H e should be struck off in my view - idiot!
Fortunately for me there was no ill effect but I have made my protestations known to Stagecoach - idiot arrogant busdrivers should not be allowed on the roads.

My disabled aunt was getting off a bus this summer. The bus driver just shut the doors on her and she went head first onto the pavement. Then he drove off!

You got to have some sympathy for bus drivers though. They take so much crap, especially from school kids and hoodies, that they get a tad peed off.
Best to just look out for yourself.

This is the letter I have sent to stagecoach:
Dear sir from Stagecoach,
I wish to make my protestations known about one of your drivers.It was during last saturday, 09-12-2006, at Chapel rd Worthing at around about 02.30 pm that a double decker bus, the 700 to Southsea to be precise, drove straight into my arm as I stood at a bus stop ON THE PAVEMENT and nearly sent me flying. Now I must stress that my arm was NOT stretched out into the road but was hanging at a 45 degree angle( I admit I was looking away from where the bus was coming ). Fortunately no harm was done and I suffered no ill effect but what infuriated me was the attitude of the driver who proceeded to blame me for being hit. To say I was gobsmacked would be an understatement and I felt very much inclined to give him a mouthfull of abuse which I did . There were several elderly people present who looked both shocked and bemused by my rantings - the language was definitely x certificate. Words beginning with c and f flew out of my mouth together with considerable amounts of spittle My eyes bulged with fury as my wife worried about the state of my heart tried to calm me down. Some hope
I very much hope that this driver is disciplined and told to be more mindful and courteous in future.Even better I hope you have the good sense to lock him up in a cage and feed him rotten bananas in order to cure his arrogance
The driver of the bus I had intended taking could not have been more different, most courteous and affable was he but with regard to the first driver I cannot help wondering what would have happened if I'd been an elderly person.

no offence LGS but I don't think they will take a letter like that very seriously. I also don't think admitting to using the 'C' word in front of OAPs, whilst spitting and your eyes bulging helps your case very much.

If I recieved that letter I'd be tempted to write you off as a nutter and that'd be as far as it would go. If your spleen is sufficently vented though then that's the main thing.

Reminds me of when I got twatted around the back of the head whilst working in Copenhagen a few years back.

I was walking down the pavement, slightly on the left hand side, when all of a sudden, "whack" I nearly was sent flying.

Rubbing my head I turned around to see what had hit me when I noticed this big euro style bus with very large overhanging wing mirrors and a bus driver just shrugging his shoulders as to blame me for being in his way!

Funny now but not at the time.

It always helps to have a sense of humour I am greatly exgerating my reaction as it takes a lot to make me completely lose it but I do find that some drivers are just plain arrogant and they should b brought to account
