Thanks: Gave 58, Got 198 | Anyone been to an Ice Hotel?
I'm thinking of booking a trip to an Ice Hotel in Finland for my and the missus in January as her Christmas present. It looks tops, and I'm sure the reindeer sleigh rides will be fantastic.
But has anyone stayed in one? It looks amazing, but it's not cheap, so I'd hate to spend all that money if it's not actually as great looking as it's made out to be.

Is that like the one in Die Another Day?

Err, from what I recall of the film, yes. Although hopefully without the machine guns, melting floors and cars being through it :D

I've never been there myself, but it's something I have always wanted to do. Been looking around the website, Ice Hotel, this bit I found funny, "Attending a conference in the unique environment of ICEHOTEL is something above the ordinary."

Some friends of mine went to one for a few nights as part of their honeymoon. Quite fun and great novelty value but you wouldn't want more than a couple of nights there was the conclusion. It was also said that being wrapped up, head to toe in reindeer skin at night wasn't exactly conducive to erm.. romantic maneuvers.

LOL
Well, this trip will be one night in an ice room, and two nights in a log cabin with a personal sauna. I'm sure we'll be able to figure out some maneuvers somehow |
