Yes I find that if you get some wet toilet paper and tape it onto the bald patches, it has two effects. 1. It keeps the skin moisturised, and 2. It makes you more attractive to women. Which are two good things.

Re: advice from beard wearers

A slighty more serious suggestion than the last post

I use Nivea Extra Soft (I think thats what its called) - comes in a white tin.
Does the trick for me

The fact that I've just admitted to using moisturiser on a predominantly male forum has probably ruined any street cred I had left

Ian.

Nivea for men Q10, moisturises and keeps me looking younger....Its pretty good though considering i work outside and in this cold weather you face gets a wee bit dry...

I`ll second/third the Nivea for men range of moisturisors. Although i have recently shaved my beardy chin

It does work well.

Re: advice from beard wearers

get a toothbrush and when you wash your face use the toothbrush to scrub through the beard slightly ( not to rough and go primarily in the direction of beard growth ) this will help exfoliate the skin beneath the beard and prevent ingrowing hairs , blocked pores and itchiness.

Apply a little moisturiser but not too much as the beard will help lock in your natural oils and you don't want to look too greasy.

Don't worry, the food and liquids that spill and get stuck in you're beard will keep you're skin nice and moist.

Yup, that's the one I use. The front of my beard is predominantly white now... it's slowly got that way over the last year or so. Is it because I'm getting older or is it accumulated milk from when my cereal dribbles down my chin?

;-)

Cheers,
Terry.

Re: advice from beard wearers

I got really confused when I read the thread title, though it said "bread wearers". I had a hard time trying to work out how people could actually wear bread.

I think the suggestions about moisturising are good for any skin though. People often think it's a girly thing to do for some reason, but you can't do enough to protect your skin.

A wet puppy (the Andrex kind) and some gaffer tape is best, although a moist Kitten will suffice.

Would say almond/peach kernel oil, but not on beards.

Agree completely, this stuff works wonders, and comes in a big drum of the stuff, plus good for sensitive skin .

Re: advice from beard wearers

dont waste money on products, just drink a good 7 litres of water a day, your skin will look and feel lovely unless you have a specific disorder

too much is bad if you drink it in a short space of time.....over the course of a 14-15 hour day (as in when you are awake) 6-7 litres is a good way to keep your bodies various functions in good form, namely the liver and kidneys as the water helps dilute toxins making those organs jobs easier, it also plumps up the fat cells beneath the skin which makes the skin look healthier and feel healthier........one downside is after a couple days you'll find you go to the loo a couple more times than usual....lol...

altho this is mostly when you are not sedentry, if you do very little during a day then perhaps 4-5 litres would suffice (btw i'm basing this on a full size adult male, obviously smaller people such as women, children, older people or just small men should drink slightly less)

edit: oh and also basing it on the principle of a conventional dietary intake as well, in other words you eat normal conventional food and are not limiting yourself to no salt or no red meat etc......
