Not really a pet, but a superb hunter to work with.
Has anyone ever kept an exotic/strange creature?

I keep Australian Blue Lobsters.
Technically freshwater crayfish but still an entertaining pet.
A lot easier to keep than that beauty. Is she a Hawk of some sort ?

She was a Harris' Hawk mylo. Sadly died a few years ago. We had some good days together.
I've kept a few birds of prey, but she was special. A very good killer who could deal with
fully grown Hare no problem.
When she died, I was gutted.
I keep finches now.
Any pics of the lobsters?

an old pic of the female in the foreground with the male climbing over the bogwood. He got to be big enough to eat, unfortunately she thought so as well. She's now massive and I've managed to stop her eating three of the babies they had.

have a friend who has had several harris hawks and must admit it was the greatest thing to watch. the females were great for rabbit - hares but to watch the males going for birds( crows pigeons phesant) was outstanding.
how did you find new hunting laws or were you not that bothered and hunted anyway???

It is indeed one the babies. They lay hundreds of eggs and incubate them under the tail.

When I was at Junior school lots of years ago, we had a goat called Polly. It's one
of the most evil animals I've ever come across.
Any pics of yours Jakal?

Not at the mo but I'll load one tomorrow. I also have peacocks - they look a bit sad at this time of year as they loose their tales. That Hawk was stunning, such noble looking birds.
